Kerbal Space Program is an innovative game that allows players to let their imaginations run free while being challenged with the task of creating their own space rockets and launching them into space. This game is highly user generated, and it gives players the impression of participating in an actual space program.

The aim of playing Kerbal Space Program is to create a craft that is able to travel in space and to transport a crew into space. Players have a variety of different materials available to them when they are attempting to construct their space rocket. These materials must be properly assembled to create a functioning ship. Materials available to players include engines, wings, fuel tanks, bombs, landing gear, and more. Players may use pre-fab modules to assist them in constructing their spacecraft.

Kerbal Space Program is noteworthy for its Vehicle Assembly Building and the flight simulator that it offers that is based on actual physics. In the creation of Kerbal Space Program, efforts were made to adhere to some genuine scientific or astronomic principals and ideas. For example, the "planet" of Kerbal is described as being 600 kilometers in radius, and the program uses real-time distances.

Only one planet has been developed from which players can launch their spacecraft. Players launch their spacecraft from Mün, which is the moon of the planet Kerbin. Those interested in the game should try it as soon as possible. Although it is currently free to play Kerbal Space Program, there will eventually be a charge for playing the game once development has progressed.
